Varun had dreamt of working There

Varun was very excited that day, as he was going to work where he had dreamt of working. When Varun joined the office the same day, he loved the way he was introduced to his office-colleagues, he was told about the motto of the organization, what his daily routine would be in the office and how each person working for the organization, is valuable and important to them.

 

In the Meeting...........

His initial four days in the office went very well for Varun as, in these days, he had made good friends there and was loving what he was doing in the office. The next day, there was a meeting in the office. In the meeting, the boss proposed an idea on which everybody present there agreed. Varun noticed some flaws in the idea, he informed that to the boss very politely, but, it didn’t go well with the boss. In reply to Varun, the boss gave a strange look to him (Varun) and announced in the meeting room, “As almost everyone supports the idea which I proposed today, so, we will proceed with the same. You would get the other details by email. So, that was it for the day. Have a nice day, all of you”. Then, he (The Boss) looked at Varun and left the room.

 

Someone said to Varun in a manner to insult him, “You may have better ideas than the boss but you are not a celebrity or one of the rich people in the world, why would he listen to you? You are new here, stay in your limits ”. After Varun heard these words, these words kept moving inside his (Varun) mind.

Then, the views of one of his school days flashed before him.

One of The School-Days of Varun

Varun was very popular in his school. Almost everyone in the school, used to root for him in anything of which he was part of. That day (One of his school days), when he entered the classroom with two of his friends, Pankaj was singing a song in front of two boys and five girls. He was singing beautifully. After he finished the song, before the two boys and five girls could appreciate his singing, Varun said to Pankaj, in a little louder voice, “What do you think of yourself? A celebrated Movie singer? All want to listen to the stars, not losers like you.” The two friends of Varun started laughing at Pankaj.

 

Back in the Present

A lady in the office, said to Varun, “You said nothing wrong but our boss doesn’t take his flaws that well. As you are new, you have to play safe. You can share your views and pitch your ideas, but only after you have appreciated the boss’s ideas and other stuff, next time onwards when you have something new to share with the boss, begin with appreciating him and don’t think about his (The Boss) flaws.”
